SYRACUSE DUO TEAM UP FOR IS8 CHAMPIONS

Over the weekend the Shooting Stars captured the spring IS8 championship. Led by Big East bound stars such as Devin Ebanks and Samardo Samuels, the Stars had a loaded roster with offensive firepower up and down the line-up.

Playing key roles for the champions was a pair of Syracuse commits, Mookie Jones and James Southerland and Brian Crownover watched both play in the IS8 Semifinals on Saturday.

Jones contributed 12 points in the 104-85 victory over NY Elite and Southerland did most of his damage blocking a few shots and grabbing some rebounds for the all-star squad.

More importantly for Syracuse fans, Southerland is all Set to join the Orange in the 2008-2009 Season (Orange Squeeze) as his academic concerns seem to be put to rest and he will be qualified per the NCAA guidelines.
